Hydraulic Engineer | Jacobs – UK Water Sector Transformation

As a Hydraulic Engineer, you’ll shape tomorrow’s water and wastewater infrastructure. Your Impact
You’ll drive major investment programmes across the UK, bolster resilience, champion sustainability, and redefine water and wastewater services. Opportunities include:
- Water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Pumping stations and pressurized/gravity pipelines
- Managing combined sewer overflows (CSOs)
- River intakes and reservoirs
- Bioresources infrastructure
- Major Design & Build programmes
Key Responsibilities
- Engage across the full project lifecycle: feasibility, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to deliver critical infrastructure for United Utilities, Thames Water, Northumbrian Water, Severn Trent, and Anglian Water.
- Apply hydraulic engineering expertise using industry-leading software such as HADES, WinHydro, and SWMM.
- Guide major projects, ensuring alignment with sustainability and resilience goals.
- Foster knowledge sharing and professional development within teams.

Limitations & Requirements
For Candidates:
✔ Experience in the UK water sector. ✔ Strong hydraulic engineering knowledge and design proficiency. ✔ Familiarity with hydraulic modelling software (HADES, WinHydro, SWMM). ✔ Ability to communicate technical details clearly. ✔ Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or genuine commitment to professional accreditation. ✔ For senior roles, demonstrate leadership in hydraulic studies and mentorship.
