This role offers a unique opportunity to partner closely with the European Gas & Power teams to design, develop and maintain quantitative tools that forecast hydrological variables and translate them into power generation forecasts (MW/MWh). The successful candidate will join a top-tier power and natural gas analysis team and play a central role in building out our hydrological forecasting capability, from model design and calibration through to production-grade deployment and ongoing maintenance. This position is well suited to someone who thrives in an innovative, entrepreneurial commercial environment, is motivated to take ownership of new analytics end-to-end, and enjoys translating scientific modelling into tools that directly support trading and investment decisions. Qualifications: Desirable Skills & Knowledge Understanding of the weather-to-power value chain and how hydrological conditions impact electricity markets. Familiarity with ensemble weather forecasting products (e.g., ECMWF, GFS) and their application to hydro modelling. Experience with geospatial data, remote sensing (e.g., satellite snow cover), and large-scale hydrological datasets. Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, R, or equivalent) With Professional Experience Proven, hands-on experience in hydrological modelling within one or more of the following regions: Nordics, Iberia, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy Demonstrated track record of building and operating hydro forecasting / water balance models. Without Professional Experience PhD in Hydrology (or closely related disciplines), thesis work or research directly relevant to hydro forecasting.
