About the Role
Our Swim Teacher is a key member of the Sports Systems and Aquatics team, and related areas of Cardiff Met Sports. They assist with delivering the Swimming Lessons and School Swimming programmes and ensure that the needs of participants are met.
Programme Schedule
Swimming Lessons
- Tuesday: 16:00 - 18:00
- Thursday: 17:00 - 20:00
- Saturday: 09:00 - 12:00
School Swimming
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 - 12:00
You Will Lead the Way By
- Having experience as a lead swim teacher in a school, club, or leisure setting.
- Planning and delivering progressive lesson plans.
- Experience in communicating with parents or guardians.
- Experience in assessing, monitoring, and recording swimmer progress through a formal assessment method.
What You Will Bring
You will use your previous experience in teaching and working in an aquatic environment and understanding of the importance of customer care to provide an excellent service to our swimming participants. Your knowledge of industry standards and national governing body policies will ensure our Aquatics programmes are safe and of the highest standard.

Additionally, You Will Have
- A recognised Level 2 in Teaching Swimming:
- ASA Level 2 Teaching Water Activities.
- SEQ Swimming Teaching Level 2 SEQ.
- STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming.
- Excellent team working skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team to ensure the best results for participants.
- Experience of working with customers and parents.
