About The Role
Job Purpose
To lead the hygiene team to ensure the factory is cleaned to the high standards set by the Company and meet legal requirements through forward planning and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities
- Manage the hygiene budget and ensure all expenditure is recorded accurately
- Manage the stock control and ordering of all hygiene consumables, chemicals, and all hygiene related equipment
- Maintain and update SOP’s and cleaning schedules to meet BRC, and IPL requirements
- Responsible for the effective delivery of the site laundry service.
- Management of pest control contract and oversee the completion of all pest prevention actions to the required standards & log all data.
- Responsible for the cleaning of air handling, evaporators, and boxing air stocks, within house or contractor.
- To oversee the day to day running of the staff facilities and all associated equipment, to ensure the PPE and amenities requirements are correct for use
- Conducting compliance audits / inspections of internal hygiene standards and documentation. 99% FRT and all time
- Managing the provision of hygiene chemicals and dosing equipment on site – to include regular reviews with chemical supplier, daily chemical dosing checks, maintenance of equipment, and to oversee the safe storage, decant, transport, and use of chemicals
- To work with suppliers to obtain the most suitable and cost-effective equipment and consumables and to effectively manage supplier non-conformance in a timely manner
- To support the Technical & QA team in obtaining air plates, water samples for testing, and participating in microbiological investigations or special projects to drive improvements in the site hygiene standards. Update environmental summary and have regular meetings with Technical on the corrective actions and positive results.
- Liaising with all departments as and when required to ensure hygiene issues are dealt with effectively and efficiently at all times, to meet weekly and discuss the CI plan
- To provide and ensure all hygiene staff are trained on the procedures relevant to their role and managing the Hygiene Trainer to ensure all training records and matrixes are updated
- To develop the hygiene team to ensure there is a multi-skilled team, that are capable of delivering a clean site
- To manage the hygiene team to ensure that the team works efficiently and to the best of abilities at all times including arranging overtime when required.
- Conduct investigations into employee-related matters in conjunction with Company procedures
- To conduct absence, disciplinary, and grievance meetings with hygiene staff as and when required liaising with the HR department to ensure consistency
- Recruit staff as and when required as per needs of the business
- Conduct and manage the team to maintain COSHH & risk assessments and document safe systems of work for all hygiene tasks
- To ensure that staff are working safely at all times
- To manage the segregation, storage, and timely removal of all waste – recyclers, landfill, hazardous, and confidential waste streams
- To ensure that all operatives dealing with waste are appropriately trained and comply with all
