Hygiene Operative Nights

We are currently recruiting for Hygiene Operative Nights for team A and team B to join our Team at Pilgrim’s Europe Dungannon site.

The job is performed both within the factory departments and also outdoors. The job holder is required to effectively clean meeting the hygiene standards outlined in the Hygiene manual. Also, the role entails the responsibility for processing product in their department and ensuring that hygiene, quality, and health and safety standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean according to the cleaning manual and hygiene standards.
  • Dismantling and re-building of production machinery.
  • Reporting of damage to any equipment.
  • Operating cleaning equipment and other machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Responsibility for personal Health and Safety and that of other workers.
  • Cleaners must set a good example to others by appropriate work behaviour and obeying health and safety rules.
  • It involves extensive periods standing and holding a high-pressure power hose.
  • Product processing as and when required, whilst maintaining hygiene, food safety, and animal welfare standards.
  • To ensure food safety and integrity at all times.
  • Any other duties that are required.

Working hours

Team A

  • Week 1: Sunday (6:15pm - 5:15am)
  • Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday - 5:45pm - 5:15am
  • Week 2: Sunday (6:15pm - 5:15am)
  • Monday & Tuesday - 5:45pm - 5:15am

Team B

  • Week 1: Thursday, Friday - 5:45pm - 5:15am
  • Saturday (6:15pm - 5:15am)
  • Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday - 5:45pm - 5:15am
  • Saturday (6:15pm - 5:15am)

Essential Criteria

  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be numerate.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • The ability to think clearly is essential.
  • English language (pending on area of work).

Desirable Criteria

  • Good manual dexterity is desirable.
  • The ability to work on own initiative is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal skills are desirable.
  • An awareness of the Food Processing Industry.
  • Previous work experience in the factory.
  • The ability to work as a team member is desirable.
  • The ability to solve problems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety Regulations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the cleaning chemicals is desirable.
