Hygiene Operatives
Hygiene Operative – Days (Northfleet)
Join us as a Hygiene Operative at PrepWorld, helping to uphold the high standards that make our workplace exceptional. You’ll play a key role in keeping production areas immaculate—ensuring machines, workspaces, and environments meet rigorous hygiene requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure personnel protective equipment (PPE) dispensers are fully stocked and all hygiene equipment is available.
- Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitisation of production lines, machinery, belts, and processing equipment to meet company standards.
- Safely handle and apply cleaning chemicals, ensuring proper usage to protect yourself and colleagues.
- Maintain high hygiene standards compliant with customer specifications and company policies.
- Complete daily hygiene control sheets accurately and take corrective action within agreed timescales.
- Comply with all hygiene, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
- Use water efficiently and ensure chemicals are applied at the correct concentration.
- Verify cleaning tools, equipment, and PPE are functional—report any defects immediately.
- Report incidents, hazards, or environmental concerns to a Team/Section Leader.
- Perform manual handling tasks and work safely in cold storage environments daily.

Requirements & Experience
- Previously preferred (but not essential)—experience in hygiene, cleaning, or sanitation.
- Ideal candidate has 1 year+ in cleaning/sanitation within a food production or factory (though not required).
- Basic awareness of hygiene, food safety, and health & safety standards is a plus.
- Ability to follow procedures, handle chemicals safely, and achieve high cleaning standards.

Salary
• Level 1: £12.41/hr • Level 2: £12.77/hr • Level 3: £13.39/hr
Progression depends on skills, performance, and experience.
Working Conditions
⏰ 12-hour day shifts (including breaks) ⏰ Shift time: 06:00 – 18:00 📅 Pattern options: Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
