Summary
As a hygiene supervisor you will play a vital role within the factory driving Hygiene standards
The Role
As a hygiene supervisor you will play a vital role within the factory. Following detailed cleaning instruction cards you will work across all of the production areas with your team and be responsible for ensuring that all machines and the building fabric meet strict standards of hygiene at all times.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Supervise hygiene operatives carrying out on site and machines cleaning.
- Allocate cleaning tasks and monitor completion throughout the shift.
- Ensure cleaning standards are checked and corrected where required.
- Support acid cleaning, machines cleaning and scheduled hygiene tasks.
- Ensure site procedures, CIC Instructions and safe systems of work are followed.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, GMP, COSHH, PPE standards and Health Safety.
- To be aware of cleaning chemicals their use, mixing strengths and precautions.
- Complete and review hygiene records and sign-off documentation.
- Report defects, hazards, contamination risks, access issues or missed tasks.
- Support team training, coaching and day-to-day performance.
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and technical teams

The Ideal Candidate
- Efficient in delivering objectives and key measures.
- Ability to manage priorities and projects across the factory.
- A personal commitment to role model behaviours and to setting the standard.
- Numeracy and literacy skills
- Chemical training and understanding
- Previous experience in a hygiene role within food manufacturing or a production environment.
- Good knowledge of hygiene procedures, sanitation practices, and food safety.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining standards.
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP and food manufacturing compliance requirements
