Hygienist Opportunities at Portman Smile Clinic, Bicester
Join our established orthodontic specialist practice, Portman Smile Clinic in Bicester, Oxfordshire, for a fantastic career opportunity.
About the Role
Portman Smile Clinic, located in central Bicester, is a modern, purpose-built specialist practice offering care for both NHS and private patients. We provide a range of orthodontic treatments and also host a Private GDP and Implant Dentist onsite.
We are now seeking a skilled and experienced Hygienist/Dental Therapist to join our team and develop a direct access hygiene service.
This is a highly autonomous role, perfect for a self-driven Hygienist looking to lead the service and manage all internal referrals and direct access patients (being the only Hygienist onsite).
Initial Schedule & Growth
We will start with 1 day per month, gradually increasing to weekly (via bi-weekly) as we build our diaries together.
The role will be based on Mondays only, with nurse support available.
Patients & Practice Environment
Our patient base is wide and varied, including:
- Those requiring hygiene appointments to support their orthodontic journey
- Patients wanting high-quality hygiene services in central Bicester, without orthodontic treatment

Essential Requirements
- GDC-registered Hygienist/Dental Therapist willing to work primarily as a Hygienist
- Proven experience in direct access hygiene provision
- Indemnity for direct access
- Radiography qualification
- Exemptions Training completed
