Hygienist – Portman Smile Clinic (Bicester, Oxfordshire)
Located in -central Bicester, our modern, purpose-built specialist orthodontic practice (Portman Smile Clinic) cares for both NHS and private patients. Offering a range of orthodontic treatments, we also host a Private GDP and Implant Dentist onsite.
We’re seeking an experienced and autonomous Hygienist to deliver a direct access service, leading the hygiene provision and managing referral and patient caseload.
The Opportunity
- This role is designed to grow – starting at 1 day/month (Monday-only), expanding gradually to bi-weekly, then weekly as demand develops.
- Surgery access is limited to Mondays, with nurse support available as needed.
- Patient base covers a broad spectrum, including those requiring hygiëne support for orthodontic treatment, as well as private clients seeking high-quality hygiene care in Bicester.
- The practice comprises three modern surgeries within a large, welcoming clinical team led by our experienced Practice Manager (10+ years sector experience).

- Automated clinical correspondence.
- Medico-legal protection through precise record-keeping. Note: AI use is optional—your governance processes will remain unchanged.
Essential Requirements
- GDC-registered Hygienist or Dental Therapist willing to work as a Hygienist.
- Proven experience in direct access practice with evidence of:
- Indemnity for direct access.
- Radiography competency.
- Completed exemptions training (e.g., PH&R, malocclusion, cracks/hybrid authentication).
- Must demonstrate a professional, approachable demeanour—thriving in team roles where autonomy is rewarded.
- Proficiency in orthodontic hygiene support is an advantage.
- Availability—exclusively Mondays (initially).
