Join us as a Critical Care Nurse at our Centre for Defence Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (CDDHM) site in Chichester, West Sussex, where you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in partnership with some of the most brilliant minds.
The Role As a Critical Care Nurse within a Hyperbaric environment at St Richard's Hospital, you will work within a multi-disciplinary team ensuring patients receive safe and high-quality care in accordance with NHS and QinetiQ guidelines.
Day-to-day, you’ll deliver patient-centred nursing care, undertake clinical assessments, and provide support during hyperbaric oxygen therapy, while contributing to ongoing training, governance and clinical excellence within the team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering nursing care, assessment, planning and evaluation for military and NHS patients Monitoring patients’ condition and maintaining accurate clinical records Participating in audits, clinical governance and continuous professional development Supporting training and induction for staff and students Maintaining personal competency and fitness to work within the hyperbaric chamber Participating in on-call duties, which may include UK and overseas travel
Essential experience required:
Registered Nurse with recent intensive care or critical care experience Strong clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills Experience working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Knowledge of NHS clinical governance and best practice Effective communicator with strong documentation and record-keeping skills Ability to remain calm and adaptable in high-pressure clinical situations

Essential qualifications for the Hyperbaric Nurse:
Full NMC registration Nursing Degree or Diploma Postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care Nursing/Critical Care Nursing

This role is 37 hours per week based at St Richards Hospital, Chichester, West Sussex. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected. On-call duties form part of this role.
Chichester Our Chichester facility is home to the Centre for Defence Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (CDDHM), a specialist environment dedicated to hyperbaric and diving medicine services for both Defence and NHS patients.
