Role Description
"IBM Z Technical Specialist – Db2 System Programmer The IBM Z Technical Specialist will work with the IBM mainframe team to install, customize, and maintain the IBM Z DB2 environment. This role will support the Client Technology team, which has received extensive investments and will continue to undergo rapid expansion throughout 2027 and beyond.
General Skills
- Experience working on several large complex projects in an architectural role designing and implementing technical solutions to commercial problems.
- Excellent problem determination skills and the ability to detect and control any processing anomalies or system errors.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, particularly when conveying complex information, and the ability to build effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust.
- Banking / Finance background would be beneficial.

Technical Requirements
- Installation, customization and maintenance of DB2 for z/OS and related products.
- Sound knowledge in SMPE required for MVS environment.
- Excellent knowledge of relational database concepts of DB2 in z/OS.
- Proficiency in using DB2 tools from IBM, Broadcom and other vendors.
- Good knowledge in performance & tuning, database sizing, system support, security and documentation.
- Implement RACF/ACF2 DB2 security rules and Access authority.
- Good experience with software maintenance.
- Knowledge in planning and designing databases.
- DB2 monitoring software.
- Good Knowledge on IBM utilities, JCL, access methods and file structures
- Good Knowledge in Disaster Recovery
- Create documentation and SOP’s.
- Provide Operations Support
- Interaction with Service Center and other business support areas for problem escalations, resolutions, reporting and coordination.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or a related discipline preferred.
- 8-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and procedures.
- Strong overall technical leadership skills.

- REXX Programming skills
- Coding Languages: Rexx and CLIST skills
