IC Validation Engineer – Electro-Optical Sensors (Edinburgh)

Our client is one of the world's most respected semiconductor manufacturers, serving hundreds of thousands of customers across automotive, industrial, and smart-device markets. They are recruiting an IC Validation Engineer with expertise in:

  • Mixed Signal IP Validation
  • Top-Level System Validation

About the Role

In this position, you will:

  • Develop and execute validation plans for IP blocks and subsystems
  • Collaborate with design and verification teams to ensure successful IP validation
  • Conduct testing, simulation, and analysis to verify functionality and performance
  • Debug design and performance issues and communicate findings to the design team
  • Develop automation tools and scripts to enhance validation efficiency
  • Support the successful tape-out of analog IP blocks

Requirements

Candidates should have:

  • A BSc / MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Several years’ industry experience in mixed-signal IP validation
  • A strong understanding of circuit design and validation methodologies
  • Advanced knowledge of laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Experience with industry-standard simulation tools (LTspice, eDesignSuite)
  • Proficiency in Python and Perl for automation and scripting tasks
