ICB Trade & Working Capital Origination, UK

<h2>**Position: International Corporate Bank Trade and Working Capital Originator**</h2> <h3>Purpose of the Role</h3> To generate revenue and promote the bank’s diverse **Trade & Working Capital** product and service offerings to various customer segments.

Accountabilities

  • Identification & Analysis

    • Identify potential customers, analyse their needs and preferences
    • Stay abreast of emerging market trends and competitor strategies
    • Create detailed profiles for target customer segments (requirements, needs, pain points)
  • Customer Relationship Management

    • Manage relationships with potential and existing customers:
      • Provide high-quality customer support
      • Resolve queries and issues
      • Build trust and understand financial goals/challenges
    • Collect and analyse customer feedback to inform product development
  • Sales Strategy & Performance

    • Develop sales pitches/proposals to convert leads into customers
    • Negotiate favourable terms for both clients and the bank
    • Monitor metrics (lead conversion rates, acquisition costs) and identify improvements
  • Risk & Compliance Expertise

    • Understand market features, benefits, risks, compliance, and regulatory requirements
    • Translate insights to customers effectively

Entity/Client Focus

Based in Canary Wharf, London, you’ll contribute to income and balance sheet growth serving:

  • Consumer, Retail, Healthcare and Pharmaceutical clients
  • A focus on Supply Chain Finance through guarantees, indemnities, open account, and Export Credit Agency (ECA) products.

As a lead originator, you’ll work with Barclays’ most significant global clients, collaborating closely with Coverage and Product teams.

  • Trade & Working Capital experience with large international clients
  • Exposure to Consumer, Retail, Healthcare and Pharma sectors (not essential but desirable)
  • Proven track record in building client relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of Supply Chain Finance (partnership with non-bank led solutions)
  • Expertise in Trade/WC products, documentation, and structures
  • Corporate Banking Coverage/Product experience with complex global relationships
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with dealmaking & business development success
  • Soft Skills:
    • negotiation, interpersonal, influencing
    • research, analytical, and presentation proficiency

Technical Skills:

  • Proficency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
