Blending origination expertise with the ability to drive growth across high-profile client portfolios, this role focuses on delivering income and balance sheet expansion for Consumer, Retail, Healthcare, and Pharmaceutical sectors—with a specific emphasis on Supply Chain Finance.
As the lead originator for a defined client portfolio, you’ll:
- Execute Trade & Working Capital (TWC) solutions across the full Barclays product suite, including guarantees, indemnities (open accounting), ECA-backed financing, and every other TWC instrument.
- Collaborate closely with Coverage and Product stakeholders to spearhead business development initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships with global enterprises and diverse stakeholders, shaping outcomes within Barclays’ most significant client engagements.
This opportunity merges problem-solving with strategic influence—critical for an organisation focused on scalable growth.
### Essential Skills & Qualifications

Ideal but not compulsory:
- Proven Trade & Working Capital origination experience, particularly in large, international consumer/pharma/retail/HC markets.

- Advanced knowledge of Supply Chain Finance, ideally working alongside non-bank finance partners.
- Deep understanding of: Trade products, legal frameworks, working capital structures, and ECA requirements.

- Entrepreneurial zeal—demonstrated ability to develop new business and close high-value deals.
- Critical soft skills including: negotiation, relational trust-building, flawless communication, and strategic analytical thinking.

- Fluency in MS Office (particularly Excel for complex analysis, Word for documentation, PowerPoint for pitches).

### Purpose of the Role
Your primary objective is driving revenue by relentlessly promoting Barclays’ Trading Finance & Working Capital product line, catering to varied industry profiles from SMEs to Fortune 500 corporates.
### Accountabilities
Customer Analysis & Engagement
- Perform proactive market research on potential Trade/Corp Finance customers; dissect their needs, and geopolitical/technical risks.
- Build detailed client profiling to tailor Bharat Olson/Finserv/Grill strategies.
Relationship Excellence
- Across sales cycles, nurture customer loyalty—solve dilemmas, listen to feedback, and align solutions with financial ambitions.
- Combine regulatory knowledge with product revenue transparency—helping clients understand trade/restructuring risks.

Commercial Execution
- Craft sound pitches & proposals that identify opportunities to cross-sell other finance products.
- Optimise negotiation terms for win-win business synergy.
Performance Tracking
- Analyse conversion rates and efficiency metrics (e.g., Customer Acquisition Terms) to refine strategies.
- Contribute to agile research reports on product uptake and ROI-captures per segment.
