The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ICT Infrastructure Manager to lead a diverse team of experienced technical specialists. Your role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining South Wales Police’s technical infrastructure, including both on-premise and cloud-based services, which support core systems for the organisation, emergency services, and external partners.
You will report to the ICT Technical Delivery Manager, working alongside senior ICT management, to design technical infrastructure for current and future needs. Key responsibilities include architecture design, team leadership, issue resolution, and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day infrastructure operations including:
- Servers and networking
- Security measures
- Cloud services

Lead infrastructure projects such as upgrades, migrations, and system implementations

Develop and maintain security protocols for infrastructure systems

Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Provide technical guidance to the infrastructure team and across ICT

Align infrastructure capabilities with the organisation’s strategic vision, ensuring security, reliability, and efficiency

Offer specialist advice on escalated technical challenges
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A bachelor’s degree in an ICT-related subject, or equivalent ICT qualifications/experience
- Proven experience in managing teams of technical specialists
- Significant experience with technological change at an infrastructure level
- Familiarity with day-to-day ICT operations management
- Strong system integration skills alongside broader ICT platform knowledge
- Project management experience in infrastructure leadership
- Analytical and problem-solving expertise
