Technical Architect (Police Staff)
Permanent, Full Time | **ICT Headquarters, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire | £48,309 + Market Rate Supplement (£15,178.69) | 37 Hours

Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire (BCH) ICT Department is seeking a driven, innovative Technical Architect to play a major role in designing secure, future-focused solutions that.Enable modern policing.
The Role
As part of the Enterprise Architecture team, you will collaborate with senior technical leads to define, analyse, and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient technology architectures.
You’ll act as a strategic advisor, influencing change initiatives from local digital transformation to regional and national policing platforms. Your organisational insight and technical authority will ensure discerning decision-making, embedding best-practice architectures that sustain and enhance policing capabilities.
Your Responsibilities
Design and Delivery
- Develop target architectures aligned to business and operational needs, balancing performance, scalability, usability, and security.
- Design secure, resilient solutions across complex, integrated ICT landscapes, ensuring parts are interoperable and scalable to meet evolving frontline needs.
- Act as a key technical advisor to delivery teams, subject matter experts (SMEs), suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Guide adoption of innovative and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and capability.
Technical Leadership and Risk Management
- Have delegated authority to escalate, analyse, and resolve technical design challenges—balancing technical constraints, risk, and supportability.
- Ensure architectural decisions align with enterprise principles, national standards, and operational needs.
- Lead on technical risk assessment to mitigate issues before project-level impact occurs.

About You
We’re searching for a designer with a technical passion who sees complexity as a challenge and champions collaboration.
Essential Criteria
- Broader technical expertise with a curiosity for ground-breaking solutions.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record in architecture design, systems integration, and complex technology delivery.

Exposure to Security & Regulation
- Previous experience within highly regulated or security-focused environments is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Key Details
- Role spans Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire: travel required.
- Appropriate security clearance is mandatory.
- Flexible work location across.mockito HQ or alternative sites.
