Full Time | Full Time Salary: £30,496–£32,743 | 35 hours per week | Monday–Friday
Location: National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh | Hybrid / Fully On-Site

About the Role
National Museums Scotland requires an ICT Technician to provide centralised 1st and 2nd line ICT Technical Support across all users. You will:
- Ensure all ICT support actions are recorded, controlled, and managed to agreed standards
- Maintain reliable, secure, and accessible technology across multiple sites
- Focus on problem-solving, system uptime, and high-quality user experience (for colleagues and visitors)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with availability, recovery, security, operating systems, cloud services, and general hardware/software support
- Provide direct support for desktops, laptops, printers, telephony, cloud platforms, and loan devices
- Maintain and update Service Desk records for incidents, faults, and requests
- Contribute to service continuity and participate in a weekend on-call rota

Required Skills & Experience
- Excellent communication skills (clearly explaining technical issues to non-technical users)
- Proven 1st and 2nd line ICT support experience (across diverse systems and devices)
- Ability to manage prioritisation, meet SLAs, and handle high workloads
- Commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and multi-site flexibility
