💷 £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Are you an experienced Identity Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) processes? We're seeking a security-cleared professional to join a high-profile programme, playing a key role in delivering secure, compliant, and efficient identity and access management services across the organisation. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates based in the UK, offering an immediate start and the chance to work within a collaborative environment focused on modern identity management and access governance.
The Role
As the Identity Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and supporting the organisation's Identity and Access Management (IAM) services, with a particular focus on Microsoft Entra ID and identity lifecycle management. You will oversee user provisioning and deprovisioning, access management, authentication services, and identity governance activities while working closely with HR, Service Desk, Security, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless onboarding, role changes, and offboarding processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) processes, ensuring timely and accurate user lifecycle administration.
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, including user accounts, group management, role assignments, and licensing.
- Provision, modify, and revoke access to enterprise applications in line with approved requests and security policies.
- Configure and support key identity security controls, including MFA, Conditional Access, and Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR).
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve identity, authentication, and access-related issues.
- Support identity governance activities, including access reviews, recertification campaigns, and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate identity records and ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve provisioning and access management processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR, Security, Service Desk, and Infrastructure functions.
- Produce and maintain operational documentation, procedures, knowledge articles, and reporting.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Active SC Clearance.
- Strong experience administering Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Proven experience managing Joiner, Mover, Leaver (JML) processes within an enterprise environment.
- Excellent understanding of Identity & Access Management (IAM) principles and access governance.
- Hands-on experience with: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA); Conditional Access; Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR); Authentication and access management
- Experience supporting user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access requests while meeting compliance and audit requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills.

Desirable Skills
- Experience with identity governance and administration solutions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 security technologies, including: Privileged Identity Management (PIM); Microsoft Defender; Identity Protection
- Experience integrating HR systems, ServiceNow, or other ITSM platforms with IAM processes.
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
- Understanding of ISO 27001, GDPR, and Zero Trust security principles.
