About This Role
We are seeking an Associate, Identity Security Engineer to join a major identity modernisation programme, migrating from SailPoint IdentityIQ to SailPoint Identity Security Cloud. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building, configuring, testing and improving identity security solutions in a complex enterprise environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers, security partners, operations teams and application owners to help move critical identity capabilities to a modern cloud platform. The successful candidate will bring practical engineering skills, curiosity, attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership, with opportunities to grow into deeper design and architecture responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, build, test and support SailPoint IdentityIQ and SailPoint Identity Security Cloud capabilities as part of the migration programme.
- Work on engineering tasks across workflows, rules, connectors, identity data, access requests, provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Analyse existing IdentityIQ configuration and customisations, document current behaviour and help translate them into cloud-aligned implementation tasks.
- Investigate defects, test failures and data issues, working with other engineers to identify root cause and deliver reliable fixes.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, test evidence, runbooks and implementation notes so changes can be understood, supported and reused.
- Follow engineering standards for secure configuration, code quality, change control, testing, observability and operational readiness.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, HR, cloud, operations, risk and compliance partners to gather information, validate requirements and resolve delivery blockers.
- Take ownership of assigned work, communicate progress clearly, raise risks early and follow through on commitments.
- Look for practical ways to simplify manual processes, reduce repeat issues and improve the experience for users and support teams.
- Develop design judgement by contributing to solution discussions, asking thoughtful questions and learning how identity architecture decisions are made at enterprise scale.
Qualifications / Competencies
- Hands-on experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ, SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, or another identity governance and administration platform.
- Good understanding of identity governance concepts, including joiner, mover and leaver processes, access requests, approvals, certifications, provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Experience working with workflows, rules, connectors, identity attributes, access profiles, roles, entitlements or similar identity platform components.
- Able to complete well-defined engineering tasks with limited supervision, while knowing when to ask for guidance or escalate risk.
- Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues across integrations, data flows, APIs, directories, HR sources, SaaS applications or on-premises applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, LDAP, HR systems, service management tools or privileged access platforms.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on secure, accurate, well-tested and well-documented delivery.
- Clear communicator who can explain progress, blockers and technical findings to engineers, support teams and non-technical partners.
- Reliable team player who seeks input, incorporates feedback and collaborates across teams to deliver the right outcome.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn modern identity, cloud security and enterprise-scale engineering practices.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
