IFA Senior Protection Consultant

Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.

Location: Scotland/Hybrid – Please note this role will cover the sales region across Scotland. Periodic travel to our Swindon office is also required

The opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Protection Consultant, supporting a panel of intermediary firms to create, develop and maintain relationships to exceed sales targets. Developing these relationships to drive increases in our market share.

This role is predominantly desk based using telephone and virtual communication, along with approximately 20% of time in the panel’s region to support the overall Zurich Distribution strategy (3-4 days a month).

You’ll need to be flexible and adaptable, working between home, office and field as your panel demands. There may be potential occasional overnight stays in region and at events if the business need arises.

What will you be doing?

As Senior Protection Consultant you will:

  • Create, develop, and manage relationships with intermediaries to promote Zurich and drive protection sales via phone and regular face to face interaction
  • Support key firms and strategic partners to drive better interaction and target market share growth
  • Support UK wide roadshows in stand and small audience presenter slots when required, primarily in your region.
  • Understand responsibilities associated with FCA membership including topical industry changes such as fair value, consumer duty and cost of living, and how it impacts firms and creates protection opportunities
  • Be at the leading edge of understanding the marketplace and industry developments when dealing with distributors
  • Improve and update product and market knowledge and apply it appropriately
  • Use of and optimising opportunities from analysing excellent MI
  • Develop your strategic account management strategy

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will be:

  • A motivated, resilient, and enthusiastic individual who wants to make a difference as part of a team
  • Have experience in the insurance, protection, or sales industry with some experience in presentations
  • An effective communicator, both on the telephone and face to face, as well as superior organisational and diary management skills
  • Have passed the R05 Exam (or equivalent)
