Colour Heroes are a family-owned, independent children’s book publisher, creating tailor-made, highly engaging, hand-illustrated books, site maps and activity resources for families. We have a UK-wide portfolio, including national museums, farm attractions, leisure sites, hotels, charities, and the National Trust.
Position Available: Commercial Illustrator/Designer
We have a unique opportunity for a talented, conscientious commercial illustrator/designer to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least two years proven track record of creating illustrations and artwork ready for print, ideally designed for children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new styles and put your own stamp on each prestigious piece of work.
- Maintain a high standard of work at all times.
- Ensure every project, large and small, receives the utmost care and attention to detail.
- Ensure brand story and visual language is paramount in each project.
Position Details:
- Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Location: Office-based in Easingwold (12 miles north of York)
Salary:
- Negotiable and will depend on your experience.

- Minimum 2 years proven industry experience, ideally working as a commercial illustrator/designer creating print ready artwork files.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe creative suite is desirable.
- Skilled in creating unique and engaging characters, activities and puzzles for children.
- Ideally educated to degree level.
- A collaborative and co-operative approach.
- Must be able to work on own initiative, as well as part of a dynamic team.
- High levels of attention to detail and an ability to focus in an open-plan office environment.
- Must be able to provide a recent portfolio of their work.
