We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Imaging Department Assistant (IDA) to join our MRI Team in the Imaging directorate at Royal Preston Hospital.
There will be many tasks for the appointed IDA to be involved with in this post. Interviewing and preparing patients for scans, cannulation, stock ordering, and maintaining good levels across all our sites, and generally assisting the running of MRI lists.
The post will also involve assisting the Specialist Radiographers in the 4 MRI scanners we have here at Preston, and there may be a need for assistance to be required at our Healthport site where we run the CDC MRI scanner.
Qualifications and Training:
- You should hold an NVQ level 2 in Health care (or equivalent) and be prepared to study for the INCS Level 3 qualification within 18 months of appointment.
- You will also be expected to complete the Clinical Skills Care Certificate as part of your induction unless already completed.

Work Requirements:
- You will be expected to be flexible in your attitude to work as there may be a requirement to work out of hours, at weekends, and Bank holidays.
Team and Responsibilities:
- You will work closely with the Lead and Specialist Radiographers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide support with stock and support to patients having scans and general anaesthetics/sedation.
