Imaging Technician

Location: New Victoria Hospital, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey

Part Time (27hrs) (Monday–Saturday Shifts)

Circa. £20,607pa + Fantastic Benefits

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

As an Imaging Assistant, you'll work closely with Radiologists, Radiographers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient journey and the smooth running of the Imaging Department.

Combining clinical and administrative responsibilities, you'll support patients throughout their appointments, assist with imaging procedures, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day running of the Imaging Department across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, X-Ray, and Interventional Imaging services.
  • Prepare imaging rooms, equipment, and patient lists to ensure clinics and procedures run efficiently.
  • Welcome, prepare, and support patients throughout their imaging appointments, delivering an outstanding patient experience.
  • Assist Radiographers and Radiologists during imaging procedures and clinics.
  • Carry out and record patient observations and support with clinical tasks, including patient safety screening.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention, cleanliness, health and safety, and patient confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support when required and contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental services.
  • Work flexibly as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.

What We’re Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience carrying out basic nursing or clinical support tasks.
  • At least one year's experience working within a healthcare, hospital, or similar clinical environment.
  • Understanding of medical interventions and patient care practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, organised, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • A proactive, professional, and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
  • Previous Imaging Department experience and knowledge of IR(ME)R regulations would be advantageous.
