Impact and Legacy Manager - UEFA EURO 2028

Backing the EURO 2028 Social Impact Programme – London Lead

About the Role

Join Strategy and Communications, the heart of our organisation, alongside GLA Major Sport Events to lead the delivery of a groundbreaking initiative.

EURO 2028 – London Social Impact & Legacy Programme Lead

This unique role will:

  • Design and drive the social impact and legacy strategy for EURO 2028 in London, ensuring lasting benefits for the city’s communities.
  • Collaborate with national stakeholders (DCMS, UK Sport, FA, U.K.I Wembley) while embedding EURO 2028 priorities into the Greater London’s wider ambitions for sport, culture, education, and sustainability.
  • Steer working groups, integrate cross-organisational goals, and mobilise private, public, and voluntary partners towards a more inclusive, sustainable London.

Part of the GLA Leadership Team, you’ll sit at the intersection of global sport and local transformation, addressing the legacy imperative: leaving London measurably enriched by the tournament.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the London Social Impact & Legacy Strategy for EURO 2028, aligning narratives with community priorities, commercial commitment and public sector vision.
  • Support national partners (DCMS, UK Sport, FA, U.K.I 2028) in achieving their London-zero social impact and sustainability goals.
  • Coordinate the EURO 2028 Social Impact & Legacy Group, ensuring cohesion across stakeholders and effective programme steering.
  • Foster seamless integration between EURO 2028 planning and London-wide initiatives across culture, sport, youth engagement, and environmental sustainability (e.g., Climate Emergency Action Plan, Violence Reduction Unit targets).
  • Influence, consult, and negotiate to embed social impact and sustainability considerations across all aspects of the tournament—events, partnerships, media, operations—and reduce operational barriers.
  • Demonstrate cross-departmental ownership, partnering with teams at GLA’s Head Office and local delivery units to align EURO agendas.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
