# Implementation Consultant Level 3 (Configuration) – Pension Administration Location: Home-Based – UK | Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Role
Help strengthen our Configuration Pension Implementation Team, joining our home-based team within the ** Implementation Department**. Our core responsibility is delivering high-class pension administration solutions for new and existing clients. Our projects span strategic transformational deliveries for large enterprises to bespoke client solutions, with a diverse skillset drawn upon across all engagements.
We are seeking Pension Consultants (with specific expertise in pension configuration and implementation) to ensure projects are delivered on time, to quality standards and within controlled environments.
Key Responsibilities
As an Implementation Consultant Level 3, you’ll:
- Gather and interpret client requirements and translate them into system solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Manage system configuration activities and maintain high-quality standards, leading both developmental and testing phases.
- Design and implement automation for pension calculations, implementing efficient processes.
- Lead client implementation projects, dropping in on-site training and documentation support.
- Train stakeholders (internal/external) on system usage, preparing all relevant materials and resources.
- Resolve client queries/issues promptly through troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Mentor/supervise junior Implementation Analysts, fostering growth in technical and methodological skills.
- Collaborate in data analysis and project management, including identifying risks/mitigations.
- Support the technical evolution of our platforms through requirements analysis, design, specification writing, and testing.
- Conduct system checks and configuration assessments to ensure delivery quality.

Requirements
Technical & Sector Knowledge
- Leadership experience – demonstrated ability to manage/supervise implementation teams across complex projects.
- UK Pension Specialist Knowledge:
- Clear understanding of defined benefit (DB), defined contribution (DC), CARE schemes, and annuities, including their business-to-technology implications.
- Ability to explain the relationships between members, trustees, schemes, actuaries, funds, and investments.
- In-depth knowledge of member records, statuses, and obligations (work TUPE transfers, interfacing, regulatory controls).
- Background in regulatory compliance (e.g., The Pensions Regulator, HMRC paSH/IRA systems).
- Skills in system configuration, including parameters, workflow rules, audit reporting, and integration points.
- Technical Platform Experience: Must demonstrate a comprehensive hands-on knowledge of pension/employee benefits technology platforms.
- Mapped Employer Scheme Functionality: Proven ability to contribute to existing/upgradedpension/employer benefit platforms.
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: Ability to create automated calculators using formulas, lookups, pivot tables, IF statements, data validation, conditional formatting.
- MCITProne Microsoft Access – database management and reporting.
- Strong analytical mindset – clear specification development and mitigating risks/obstacles.
