As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Import Coordinator to join our Manchester Operations team. The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Imports, you'll manage import ocean freight shipments from booking through to final delivery, with particular focus on supporting a key account. You'll ensure service delivery meets customer-specific requirements, SOPs and agreed service standards while developing a practical understanding of ocean, road and air freight to support integrated supply chain solutions

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage import ocean freight shipments from booking through to final delivery.
  • Support the operational requirements of a key customer account, ensuring service delivery aligns with customer-specific requirements, SOPs and agreed service standards.
  • Coordinate with customers, overseas agents, hauliers and suppliers to ensure efficient shipment execution.
  • Arrange customs clearance and deliveries while maintaining compliance with company procedures.
  • Monitor shipments, resolve operational issues and provide proactive customer updates.
  • Maintain accurate CargoWise records, documentation and financial information.
  • Build strong customer relationships and support the successful onboarding and retention of key accounts.
  • Develop a practical understanding of ocean, road and air freight operations to support joined-up customer solutions across the wider supply chain.
  • Continuously develop your industry knowledge and contribute to service improvements.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Experience in ocean freight forwarding and end-to-end shipment management.
  • Experience using CargoWise or a similar transport management system.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • A team player committed to delivering exceptional service.

Desirable

  • Experience in road freight operations.
  • Knowledge of customs clearance requirements and customs compliance.
