The Vacancy Uniserve is a leading international logistics and supply chain solutions provider. We offer a comprehensive range of services including freight forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing, and distribution. The Import Operator is responsible for managing the smooth and efficient Import process for our clients. This involves coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Import procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Please note: this role is fixed term for 12 months to cover maternity Key Responsibilities: Manage the complete Import cycle from booking to delivery. Working closely with Our Customs department to ensure prompt and accurate Customs clearance. Manage and process Sales invoicing to client. Use of Internal & External system software and Microsoft Excel to Manage our client’s shipments. Process Import documentation accurately and efficiently with our clients. Excellent customer service skills and Email management. Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, overseas partners and other stakeholders to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues. Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on the status of their shipments and addressing any queries. Proactively identify and resolve potential delays or problems in the Import process. Maintain accurate records of all Import activities, Shipment costs and sales whilst ensuring data integrity and compliance. Monitor and track shipments, ensuring timely delivery and providing updates to clients. Report any claims or disputes related to import shipments. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Import team. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Stay up-to-date with changes with Industry regulations and Import procedures. Skills and Experience: Experience as an Import Operator or in a similar role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry. Understanding of Import procedures and documentation requirements. Experience with Port systems software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a team and Independently. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Desirable: Knowledge of Customs regulations and Import Customs procedure.
