Job Description What you can expect We are recruiting for an Import & Storage Solutions Operative. At Rhenus, we believe everyone plays a crucial role. The Import & Storage Operative is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day management of import operations, ensuring shipments are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with all regulatory and company requirements. Reporting to the Import Supervisor, this role plays a key part in maintaining smooth operational workflows across imports, storage management, and dispatch activities. The successful candidate will be proactive, organised, solutions-focused, and committed to delivering high standards of service.

What you bring Key Responsibilities:
Support daily import operations, ensuring the timely and compliant clearance, processing, and movement of goods. Accurately prepare, review, and maintain import documentation, identifying and escalating discrepancies where necessary. Liaise with internal departments, suppliers and transport providers to support smooth operational processes. Proactively identify operational issues, delays, or inefficiencies and report them to the Import supervisor while assisting in implementing solutions. Manage storage activities, ensuring goods are correctly received, recorded, stored, and organised to maintain stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control processes to ensure accurate storage records are maintained. Coordinate despatch activities, ensuring orders and shipments are prepared accurately, labelled correctly, and dispatched on time. Ensure all import, storage, and despatch activities are completed in compliance with customs regulations, company procedures, and health and safety requirements. Maintain accurate operational records and support reporting requirements as requested by the Import Supervisor. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, supportive, and efficient working environment. Contribute ideas to improve processes, productivity, and workflow efficiency.

Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Strong organisational and time-management skills, able to handle multiple shipments and deadlines. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others positively. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems where applicable. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow direction from supervisor.

Qualifications:
GCSE level 5 / 4 and above
