About The Role
In House Commercial Lawyer
Full Time
Permanent
Salary – between £52,955 and £62,300 depending on experience
Location – Pity Me, Durham / Hybrid Working
About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join us as our In-House Commercial Lawyer. This role would see you draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of legal, commercial contracts. This includes professional services, purchase contract agreements, supply agreements, software licensing agreements, framework contracts, internal business policies, contract templates, data privacy and other technology agreements.
Working closely with our key stakeholders in the business (including our Commercial, Partnership, Procurement, Operations and Customer teams) you would provide pragmatic solutions to legal queries and risks, always remaining down to earth and communicating in plain English.
You will become a trusted advisor to the directorates within NWG with a focus on supporting the NWG Procurement and Commercial teams.
This role would see you keep up to date with regulatory changes and proactively identifying risks to our business and solutions to eliminate or mitigate them. In addition, you would support business wide projects and matters related to competition, compliance and governance, employment law, finance, GDPR, intellectual property, regulatory law, and real estate.
About You
The successful candidate will be flexible and proactive, demonstrating the ability to work well and prioritize activities from diverse internal stakeholders under tight delivery dates. In addition, you will have clear and concise communication skills and the ability to present complex legal risks in a format which is relevant to the circumstances.
You will be able to work both autonomously and as part of a small team collectively advising our organisation. This means you will be commercially minded in your approach to legal risk.
You will also be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, understanding legal and reputational issues relevant to Northumbrian Water (including, regulatory, consumer and data privacy laws, competition law, finance issues and commercial contracts).
