In-House Solicitor/Faculties Voice – Liverpool – Hybrid – up to £70,000

Assist clientele with complex legal matters and litigation by delivering top-notch advocacy within Liverpool office's fast-paced criminal and civil justice environment.

About the Role

A leading law firm is seeking an In-House Advocate (or Faculties Voice) to integrate its expanding and highly-regarded Advocacy team based in the North-West. This represents a compelling opportunity for Barristers or Solicitors with a passion for advocacy to foster their career within a supportive, dynamic environment specialising in contentious matters.

Bemoaning continued expansion in the department, the firm looks for a committed legal practitioner to build their advocacy capabilities while delivering a diversified caseload of hearings and litigation matters. This role offers frequent advocacy opportunities—including within courts across the North-West—providing hands-on experience and exposure to a broad set of proceedings. The firm prioritises professional development, backing Solicitors aspiring to attain Higher Rights of Audience while outlining a clear blueprint for enduring career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting advocacy at hearings, including interlocutory applications and trials
  • Advising fee earners and case handlers on complex legal/ procedural insights (legal analysis and risk assessment)
  • Drafting and meticulously reviewing pleadings, applications, witness statements, and expert evidentiary affidavits
  • Transitioning into internal trainer, delivering mentorship and technical guidance to junior partners
  • Handling diverse litigation matters across criminal and civil dispute spectrums
  • Thoroughly preparing cases for filings and court hearings
  • Strategic advice on liability exposure, quantum, and litigation tactics
  • Collaborating with team peers to deliver optimal client outcomes
  • Continuously developing specialised skills while expanding advocacy expertise within the litigation practice

The Candidate

A nationally or regionally recognised Assessment-Solicitor or Barrister poised to engage with newer advocates whilst delivering high-level advocacy:

  • Core Qualifications: Must be either qualified Solicitor (preferably())
  • Advocacy Experience: Proven courtroom acumen with hands-on experience representing clients in varied evaluations, trials, and procedural hearings
  • Litigation Proficiency: Comprehensive familiarity with litigation processes, course timings, and procedural standards
  • Communication & Relations: Outstanding verbal/written skills, and ability to forge valuable external/internal partnerships
  • Organisational Expertise: Effective time management while delivering under pressure
  • Independence with Collaboration: Ability to excel autonomously while integrating flawlessly into collaborative teams
