Clinical Psychologist – Mental Health In-Reach Team (HMP Wandsworth)
About the Role
To provide specialist mental healthcare to offenders and to work as part of the Mental Health In-Reach Team and wider mental health services in HMP Wandsworth.
Key Responsibilities
To deliver a range of specialist interventions at primary and secondary care levels, including:
- Referral management, screening, assessment, triage, and evidence-based intervention
- One-to-one and group-work facilitation
- Assertive outreach interventions
- Managing a mixed and challenging caseload
Additional Key Areas
- Contributing to alternatives to inpatient admission and supporting early discharge through high-intensity interventions and complex case management, ensuring continuity of care.
- Performing robust assessment, screening, and interventions for offenders with a learning disability.
- Ensuring all waiting times, assessments, and interventions are delivered in a timely manner, supporting service performance targets.
- Promoting integrated and collaborative working with specialist services, ensuring continuity of care, handovers, and liaising arrangements.
- Close collaboration with community mental health teams (CMHTs) for appropriate information-sharing, continuity of care, and the Care Programme Approach (CPA) where necessary.
