Location: Kara Foodservice, Manchester
Shift: Any 4 from 6 days Sunday to Friday working 46 hours per week, day and night shifts
Hourly Rate: £13.84
We have an opportunity for an In-Shift Hygiene Operative to join our Operations Team at Kara Foodservice as part of Finsbury Food Group. Established in 1985, Kara offers a wide range of quality sweet and savoury bakery products, including both gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs, and teacakes. The Kara Bakery can bake over 1 million baps and burger buns every day.
The In-Shift Hygiene Operative will work as part of Production and Hygiene Teams to ensure the performance of the area meets the maintenance and production plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping, while consistently demonstrating and promoting safe working practices by adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
This is what you’ll actually do!
As the In-Shift Hygiene Operative you will:
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team to ensure your area meets maintenance and production plans, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping across the site.
- Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to ensure production areas are cleaned effectively, maintained throughout operating hours, and remain audit-ready.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene in line with company standards.
- Consistently demonstrate safe working practices by following all Health and Safety procedures.
- Provide support to both the Hygiene and Production teams as required.
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role when needed.
- Actively participate in training and development initiatives to enhance both your own skills and those of your colleagues.

- Ability to follow instructions and work at the required high standard.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.

- Basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills are essential.
