In this role, you’ll be instrumental in recruiting and training our restaurant teams—embracing our ‘Southern Hospitality’ ethos while delivering top-class, personalised service to our guests.
About the Role
As a Hickory’s Restaurant Trainer, you’ll be responsible for:
- Leading and motivating teams to achieve Hickory’s standards in service excellence.
- Providing personalised training and mentorship to new team members.
- Conducting recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Organising and facilitating team trips to enhance guest experience.
- Encouraging a welcoming, empathetic, and proactive atmosphere.
- Identifying process improvements and introducing innovative solutions.
- Developing educational opportunities for team progression, including qualification support.

Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in training or coaching within a fast-paced/high-volume restaurant environment.
- Strong background in project management with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Willingness for overnight stays during team trips.
- A genuine desire to pass on knowledge and empower team members.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and mentor staff to unlock their full potential.
- A passionate commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- A welcoming, empathetic, and energetic personality.
- A resilient determination to support even the most challenging team members.
- Drive to question norms, "think outside the box", and push boundaries.
- Fortitude in evaluating processes and rolling out improvements.
- Clear, open, direct communication skills with experience (or willingness) to give constructive feedback.
