Inbound Logistics Manager

Reports into: Head of Logistics

Contract Type: Full Time, working 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week

Location: Hybrid, working 3 days a week in our offices based in Old Street, London

The Team

The Inbound Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end movement of goods from suppliers to the company's distribution centres. This role manages inbound transportation across both air, sea and road freight, ensuring products arrive on time, within budget to support inventory availability and critical product launch schedules. Working cross-functionally with Buying, Merchandising, Operations, and Warehouse teams, the Inbound Logistics Manager plays a key role in maintaining supply chain performance and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Manage the international inbound logistics network, coordinating shipments from global suppliers to the company’s DCs.
  • Oversee air freight and ocean freight operations, balancing service levels, transit times, and transportation costs.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays, capacity constraints, and transportation disruptions.
  • Partner closely with Buying, Merchandising, and Operations teams to align inbound logistics activities with product launch schedules.
  • Ensure launch-critical inventory is prioritized and delivered according to agreed timelines.
  • Provide regular updates on shipment status, risks, and mitigation plans to key stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers.
  • Monitor supplier shipping performance and compliance.
  • Negotiate freight rates and service agreements to achieve cost and service objectives.
  • Conduct regular carrier performance reviews and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Coordinate inbound delivery schedules with DCs to optimise receiving capacity and warehouse efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate shipment documentation and ASN processes to facilitate smooth goods receipt.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to resolve inbound discrepancies and receiving issues.
  • Analyse transportation performance data and logistics KPIs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support network optimisation and freight mode selection strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and import/export procedures.
  • Manage freight claims, customs issues, and transportation-related risks.

You’ll Need To Have

  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics, freight management, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven experience managing both ocean, air and road freight within an apparel, fashion, retail, or consumer goods environment.
  • Experience coordinating inbound supply chains across multiple distribution centres.
  • Strong understanding of international trade, customs, and freight forwarding processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and transportation management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly, effectively with colleagues, suppliers and the wider teams.
