Inbound Operational Excellence Manager

What You’ll Do
Please note: Although the role is currently listed as Reading-based, we operate a flexible working model and are open to candidates located across the UK, including locations such as Islip, Magna Park, London, or other regions.
We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver the inbound logistics strategy, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across processes and performance
- Oversee end-to-end inbound transformation initiatives, optimising:
- Purchase Order (PO) management
- Supplier compliance
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Establish and maintain robust SOPs, performance metrics, and data-driven insights to enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability
- Drive the adoption of new systems and tools, ensuring:
- High data quality
- Strong governance
- Improved visibility to support decision-making
- Manage:
- Inbound risks
- Resilience planning
- Sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance and progression against key targets
- Partner with commercial, procurement, and operations teams to:
- Optimise supplier performance
- Control costs
- Support long-term growth

What You’ll Bring
Here at Primark, we want everyone to feel valued—so please bring your authentic self, along with some key experience and abilities:
- Over 7 years’ experience in:
- Inbound logistics
- Supply chain
- Operations, with a strong understanding of global freight (ocean, air, road, rail)
- Proven ability to:
- Drive operational excellence
- Lead large-scale transformation or continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, including:
- Experience using logistics systems, data platforms, and automation tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly:
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Excellent:
- Organisational
- Problem-solving
- Process design skills, with the ability to deliver measurable improvements in complex environments
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities, with:
- Commercial awareness
- Experience influencing cross-functional and global teams
