About the Role
Position Purpose: Work collaboratively with a committed team to provide income management advice, guidance, and support to customers and colleagues, ensuring the sustainability of tenancies and maximising the organisation’s rental income.
Key Responsibilities
Income and Customer Advice Management

Arrears Management & Rent Collection:
- Ensure customers fully understand their payment responsibilities and associated impacts on tenancy retention.
- Proactively engage with customers to co-produce support plans as part of responsive rent arrears management.
- Collaborate with colleagues using Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma-Informed Care Principles.

Individualised Support:
- Craft unique payment plans tailored to each customer’s financial circumstances.
- Offer guidance on financial inclusion (benefits, debt, and money management).
- Make relevant referrals to the Riverside Income Maximisation Team for more complex cases.

- Evictions & Responsive Duties:
- Support colleagues during eviction processes when necessary.
- Provide advice on efficient rent payment options.
Administrative Support
- Petty cash management (purchase of required services).
- Monitoring income & expenditure, while generating accurate rent statements.
- Updating tenant records, rent accounts, and financial info via digital systems.
- Ensuring comprehensive reports and funding/performance returns are collated and submitted.
- Creating written communications needed to work effectively in income management.
General Duties & Expectations

- Occasionally may need to travel locally (within defined areas) or across the UK, depending on operational demands.
- Lone worker safety may be required—ensure adherence to company policies (health & safety, safeguarding, GDPR, dignity at work, and cash handling).

Essential Requirements:
- Experience in: Working with vulnerable/diverse populations or individuals with complex needs
- Customer-facing experience
- Skilful communication (providing advice, support) with empathetic engagement with financially distressed customers
- Proven ability to collaborate in teams and address challenges with a resilient, self-sufficient attitude
- Confidence in identifying independent decisions for rent arrears management
- Competence: Literacy, numeracy, administration, and proficiency with IT systems (reporting and communication)
Desirable:
- Knowledge of benefit systems and debt management strategies
- Working experience in care/support services
- Ability to organise, prioritize and deliver set objectives efficiently
