Job Title

Basic Details
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: £28,031.56 per annum
- Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full time
- Working Pattern: Mon–Fri, ideally 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm (flexible between 7am & 7pm to support business/colleagues)
- Location: Based at Cherry House, 224 Victoria Road, Cambridge, CB4 3LG (Covers 12 Supported and Retirement Living Services properties)

About the Role
The Income and Administration Officer will:
- Collaborate with a committed team to manage income, provide guidance to customers, and sustain tenancies.
- Maximise rental income while ensuring customers understand their payment responsibilities.
- Deliver income administration across a network of properties.

Key Responsibilities
Income and Rent Management
-
Arrears Management & Rent Collection:
- Ensure customers grasp their rent/service charge obligations and support tenancy sustainment.
- Use Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and trauma-informed care principles.
- Co-produce payment plans, tailored to individual circumstances.
- Provide advice on financial inclusion (benefits, debt, money management).
- Refer complex cases to the Riverside Income Maximisation Team.
- Respond to eviction-related support where needed.

Enabling Customers:
- Identify efficient payment options for rent.
- Communicate once customers and colleagues regarding deadlines.
Administrative Support
- Finance & Reporting:
- Manage petty cash for operational services.
- Monitor income/expenditure and generate rent statements.
- Maintain digital tenancy/financial records (including rent accounts, performance returns).
- Produce actionable reports for income management.
Additional Duties
- Work flexible hours, including travel to covered properties.
- Use the Lone Worker system as required.
- Compliance with Riverside’s policies (GDPR, health & safety, safeguarding, etc.).

- Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous development.
- Undertake additional duties as agreed with line management.

Requirements
About You
- Experience:
- Working with vulnerable/diverse groups with complex needs.
- Customer-facing roles (preferably in housing/financial support).
- Skills:
- Excellent communication (advice, empathy, decision-making).
- Arrears management confidence.
- Proficient in literacy, numeracy, admin, and IT systems.
Desirable
- Knowledge of current benefits systems.
- Experience in care/social support.
- Debt management understanding.
