Job Introduction
The West of England Combined Authority Audit Committee is looking for an additional Independent Member, to help support our commitment to strengthen governance.
Led by the regional Mayor, Helen Godwin, the West of England Combined Authority brings together Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council and Bath & North East Somerset Council to work with communities, other public services, and industry to deliver for the region.
The Audit Committee is made up of councillors from those constituent councils.
The role of the Audit Committee is to provide independent assurance to the Combined Authority on its governance, internal control and risk management arrangements and to oversee the statutory financial reporting process. The Committee meets formally up to four times a year, with additional briefing and training sessions, and on an ‘exception’ basis as required. The remuneration for this role is £717 pa, plus subsequent pay awards.
