Summary Statement The Study NMG conducts an annual Global Asset Management Study (now in its 12th cycle), across 19 countries in North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific. The study focuses on investment preferences, placement factors, and the views of asset managers. As an example, please click here to view a previous year’s interactive report which highlights asset allocation patterns and global and regional manager rankings for institutional and retail investors.
The Opportunity We now have a part-time opportunity for an Independent Consultant to work with NMG on our Global Asset Management Study in the UK. This program requires executive-style interviews to be undertaken with key decision makers who are involved in investment strategy and fund selection. The interview cycle is during May to July and potentially on an annual basis thereafter. This position will suit a highly experienced and self-motivated individual who possesses a strong understanding of asset management in the UK. This is a rare opportunity to be involved in a progressive consulting engagement in asset management on a flexible working basis.
Key Responsibilities Success in this role will see the following achieved: Conduct 10 or more interviews with decision makers who influence investment decisions, including fund manager liaison and selection, in wholesale asset management in the UK (e.g. retail or private banks, discretionary asset managers, life insurers, fund platforms, fund research houses, multi-managers, national adviser networks) Utilise your network to identify executives appropriate to participate in the study Support NMG’s strategy and insights consulting practice in understanding the key themes and insights from the research study and sharing findings back with participants

Your Experience The successful candidate for this role will most likely be retired or semi-retired but still seeking to remain in contact with the asset management industry.
They would ideally demonstrate these abilities: 10+ years of experience in the asset management industry with an existing network within the UK wholesale/retail asset management industry Ability to form relationships and gauge the thinking of key decision makers Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work effectively with a global team of consultants Excellent attention to detail and high-quality standards Fluency in the local language and English
It is envisioned that this role will be performed on a contract basis, over several days per week for a period of 2 to 3 months, with the potential to contribute on an annual basis.
