Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Taunton offices as an Independent Financial Consultant. The consultant will meet with clients to assess their financial goals, risk tolerance, and current financial position, and develop personalized plans covering investments, pensions, savings, mortgages, and retirement strategies.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Conducting financial reviews
- Preparing recommendations and reports
- Monitoring client portfolios
- Ensuring advice remains suitable over time
The role also involves:
- Staying current with financial products and regulations
- Collaborating with colleagues on complex cases
- Maintaining detailed client records in line with compliance requirements

The consultant will actively build and manage a client base through professional networking and high-quality ongoing service.
Qualifications
- Must be fully qualified with level 4 or above qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of investments, pensions, savings, mortgages, retirement planning, and estate planning, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, accessible advice.
- Relevant professional qualifications in financial planning or advice (e.g., diploma-level financial services certification) and authorization or eligibility to be authorized under appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing financial advisory roles, including conducting fact-finds, suitability assessments, and producing compliant recommendation reports.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in reviewing financial data and constructing tailored financial plans.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust, handle sensitive financial information, and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple client cases, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with financial planning software, CRM systems, and standard office applications, and willingness to learn new tools as needed.
- Commitment to ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and continuous professional development; familiarity with current financial products and market trends is highly beneficial.
- Good networking skills, building strong professional and client relationships
- Must be a team player.

Remuneration
Salary will be commensurate with experience and productivity bonus, we offer a benefit package which includes a defined contribution pension scheme, death in service benefits, up to 5 weeks paid holiday, plus bank holiday holidays and great working conditions.
