Independent Fostering Assessment Social Worker
Family Fostering Partners is seeking an experienced Independent Fostering Assessment Social Worker to support prospective foster carer assessments across the Midlands, Shropshire, and Staffordshire areas.
Our commitment is to recruit and support foster carers capable of providing safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children. High-quality assessments are crucial for ensuring that the right families are approved and properly prepared for fostering.
Key Responsibilities
- Completing thorough, analytical, and evidence-based prospective foster carer assessments
- Supporting and guiding prospective foster carers through the assessment process
- Preparing clear, well-written reports suitable for fostering panel review
- Exploring applicants’:
- Experience
- Motivation
- Support networks
- Capacity to meet children’s needs
- Maintaining a professional, child-centred, and safeguarding-focused approach throughout all assessments

Requisites
Family Fostering Partners are interested in candidates with:
- Experience completing prospective foster carer assessments
- A strong understanding of fostering, safeguarding, and child-centred practice
- Excellent analytical and report-writing skills
- The ability to work independently and manage assessments professionally
- A relevant social work qualification and registration, where applicable
