Independent Living Scheme Coordinator

Location: Manchester, Greater Manchester Working arrangement: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Agile Working) Closing date: 26th June 2024 Interview date: Week commencing 29th June 2024 Interview location: Seymour Court, Harwood Road, Stockport SK4 3BG

The Role

In this Independent Living Scheme Coordinator role, you will deliver intensive housing management and coordination of support services to enable tailored solutions for residents with varied needs. Your focus will be on ensuring high-quality services, effective risk management, and full compliance, while overseeing repairs and planned works.

Key Responsibilities

Property Management

  • Manage schemes, coordinate maintenance services and contractors.
  • Oversee daily and planned maintenance, including Health and Safety/building checks (weekly where required).

Voids & Tenancy Management

  • Conduct void inspections, approve repairs and works, and organize tenant sign-ups.
  • Assess and interview applicants, execute scheme inductions.

Rent & Service Operations

  • Coordinate with the Income Management Team on rent arrears.
  • Communicate with customers about charges and service charge reviews.

Customer Support & Care Coordination

  • Resolve housing management, tenancy and rent-related queries.
  • Lead investigations into anti-social behaviour (ASB) and Safeguarding cases.
  • Arrange Independent Living Assessments and coordinate care and support services.
  • Refer residents to and liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies such as GPs or Social Services.

Who We’re Looking For

This role requires a candidate with:

  • Experience supporting older adults and individuals with complex needs.
  • Exceptional customer care standards and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills, including interpersonal, negotiation, and communication.
  • Knowledge of housing requirements and support needs in Independent Living environments.

Ability to uphold a constructive and proactive attitude is vital, alongside:

  • Agreement to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
  • Access to and proficiency in driving (suitable vehicle necessary).
