Independent Living Support Worker (Children’s Services, Supported Accommodation) | Permanent Contract

Location: Norwich

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £26,824 to £28,142 per annum, plus:

  • Weekend and bank holiday enhancements
  • Sleep-in payments available

Grade: E


About the Role

Our Supported Accommodation service works to create a positive environment for young people participating in the independent living scheme. In this critical role, you will:

  • Support young people in developing positive and effective independent living skills.
  • Contribute to care plans for their well-being and progress, ensuring statutory reviews are attended where required.
  • Provide a positive role model, fostering strong relationships with young people and their families to address emotional, physical, and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with young people, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Assist in actioning personalised support plans while encouraging self-determination.
  • Demonstrate strong communication abilities when engaging with young people.
  • Plan and prioritise workloads effectively using excellent organisational skills.
  • Commit to continuous professional development.

Important note: This is an on-call role. You will be required to cover evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins as needed.


Requirements

  • Previous experience in support work, ideally with young people.
  • Ability to form strong and trusting relationships in a informal setting.
  • Commitment to improve your own learning through relevant training.
  • Willingness to work towards an NCFE Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (RQF), which will be fully funded by the employer.
