Product Marketing Specialist - Vanguard ETF Range
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Marketing Specialist who will drive the positioning, commercial narrative, and go-to-market execution of Vanguard’s ETF range, with a focus on:
- Client adoption
- Distribution enablement
- Scalable growth
This role acts as the key bridge between Investment Management, Product, Distribution, and Marketing, ensuring Vanguard Index ETFs are positioned effectively within client portfolios, model usings, and platform ecosystems—beyond being treated as standalone products.
Successful candidates will:
- Have a strong understanding of index investing, ETF market structure, client use cases, and distribution dynamics
- Translate these insights into clear, differentiated, and commercially effective narratives driving flows and adoption
Key Responsibilities
Category & Product Insights & Monitoring
- Track:
- ETF flows
- AUM growth
- Market share trends
- Platform availability and rankings
- Adoption in model portfolios
- Analyse competitive performance to identify where ETFs excel or underperform, and the underlying reasons
Strategy & Planning
- Analyse:
- ETF flows
- Platform dynamics
- Model portfolio usage
- Competitor positioning
- Align Index ETF marketing priorities with commercial targets (flows, adoption)
- Develop and execute marketing plans to grow ETF adoption across priority segments (intermediaries such as:
- Advisers
- Platforms
- Wealth managers
- Digital partners)
- Work with stakeholders to define target client segments, use cases and distribution pathways for each ETF
- Lead go-to-market strategies for:
- New ETF launches
- Range enhancements
- Repositioning initiatives

Positioning & Messaging
- Define clear, differentiated value propositions for Index ETFs
- Translate ETF capabilities into client-relevant use cases, such as:
- Core portfolio allocation
- Rebalancing tools
- Cash-to-equities conversion
- Tactical investments
- Develop simple, scalable, and compelling messaging that works for diverse client segments (advisers, platforms, retail investors) and markets
- Collaborate on sales enablement materials, including:
- Fund brochures
- Pitch decks
- Product overviews
- Fund commentaries
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Product, Investment Management, Distribution, and Marketing to align:
- Product characteristics
- Investment credibility
- Client usability
- Scalable execution stakeholder solutions
- Partner with Compliance to ensure all materials are clear, fair, and not misleading
Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Significant experience in:
- Investment marketing
- Asset management
- Financial services with a focus on ETFs and deep expertise in:
- Index investing
- ETF mechanics
- Portfolio construction
- Proven commercial track record working with:
- Platforms
- Advisers
- Wealth managers
- Ability to translate complex investment concepts into clear, compelling client-facing messaging, demonstrated by:
- Exceptional writing skills
- Communication proficiency
- Strong presentation ability
- Strong analytical capabilities, including:
- Interpreting ETF flows
- Adoption trends
- Platform performance
- Experience delivering cross-functional initiatives in matrixed environments with strong:
- Project management
- Execution discipline
- Stakeholder management
- Advanced technical expertise in:
- ETFs and index investing tools
- Content management systems
- ETF analytics databases
- Understanding of emerging trends in digital communications and AI
