Cammach Recruitment for Indirect Buyer
Cammach are currently recruiting for an Indirect Buyer on behalf of our Aberdeen-based client. The role will be on a 12-month contract and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Role
The Indirect Buyer Specialist is responsible for the commodities assigned, managing wing to wing all the materials and services purchasing phases, from supplier scouting to order placing and contract management. Accountable to solve complex problems, execute objectives, and support short-term/long-term business goals. Is accountable for functional, business, and operational company objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Is involved in operational and financial planning and contributes to the overall business strategy.
Responsibilities
- Be accountable for materials and services sourcing and procurement within the assigned indirect commodities driving deflation, variable cost productivity, cash flow targets.
- Lead procurement operations, from request for quotation to order issuing, ensuring process execution is performed in compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Have responsibility on a group of company strategic suppliers for the indirect buy, with orders of medium/high complexity or/and medium/high annual volume.
- Develop, implement, and lead overall supplier strategy, in coordination with commodity strategy, including simplification, ensuring sourcing process integrity, and optimization of productivity, quality, and fulfillment.
- Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects to the general ledger.
- Influence cross-functional team involved in the purchase, being the focal point for a shared process in supplier selection, capable of driving decision-making through influencing skills.
- Develop technical and market expertise in assigned commodity area teaming and working closely with the global indirect sourcing team and with businesses and functions.
- Identify and assess supplier capabilities; measure and manage supplier performance.
- Negotiate the lowest possible cost while maintaining the highest quality of goods and services.
- Interface with other business sourcing teams and participate in company strategic sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications/Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Finance.
- Proven experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain background.
- High-energy, self-motivated, willing to take on responsibilities across functions and teams’ boundaries.
- Negotiation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English, including executive communication.
- Ability to coach & influence peers and senior management.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Superior listening skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Valid UK work permit.
Desired Characteristics
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Oracle, Ariba.
- Negotiation expertise is preferred.
- Strong project management and process improvement skills.
