Are you an experienced Indirect Tax professional seeking a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for someone eager to make their mark within a top 12 firm in the UK. This role is based in the Midlands entity of PKF, and whilst you will mostly be working with UK-based businesses, there will also be opportunities for international exposure due to the jurisdictions our clients operate in and in respect of our work with other PKF member firms.
This position will be crucial in our firm’s ambitious growth plans to double in size over the next five years. If you want to be part of a firm where you can have a significant impact, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
This is an exciting role for somebody to come in and gain varied exposure across Indirect taxes. Our company specialises in owner-managed, SME and large corporates. This role will have you covering a variety of different tasks, as well as supporting junior members of staff.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably with advisory expertise.
The important work you will be doing:
- Assisting in the preparation of complex VAT returns and computations for UK and International VAT registrations
- Preparing other HMRC forms for senior review, including VAT registration applications, and options to tax on land and property
- Liaising with HMRC and other professionals regarding client affairs
- Ensuring that professional ethical procedures are adhered to
- Working with specialists from all areas of tax and the wider PKF Smith Cooper team
- Liaising with clients on day-to-day indirect tax matters
- Working on a wide variety of clients and projects across all industry sectors
The skills and experience you will bring:
- Minimum 4/5 years' experience in an indirect tax advisory position
- A basic level of IT competency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- A high level of initiative
- Confident communication skills with excellent written and oral English
- An ability to multi-task
- A positive attitude and drive to deliver the best service possible
- The confidence to ask for support when required
