About the role:
Due to rapidly increasing demand PwC is looking for a Director to help drive its indirect tax transformation and technology & indirect tax advisory businesses. With an unparalleled client base this opportunity represents a real tangible chance to work within a specialist team and help shape and build one of PwC’s growth priority businesses. You will be fully supported by the Tax Transformation and Technology leadership teams in helping you achieve your goals.
The ideal candidate can be based out of the following locations, London, Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow. The candidate will be a self-starter, have a passion and drive to take the business forward and be able to provide technical excellence as part of our national team.
What your days will look like:
- Collaborate with blue-chip clients across diverse sectors, managing listed and inbound engagements.
- Lead project delivery, working closely with partners and mentoring junior team members to ensure exceptional client service.
- Oversee end-to-end technology implementations with client teams and system integrators, covering global/local design, build, deployment, and go-live phases.
- Identify and implement technology solutions and process improvements across tax areas (primarily indirect tax), while considering integration points and risks across other taxes.

This role is for you if:
- You have a deep understanding and technical knowledge of indirect taxes.
- You possess extensive expertise in driving indirect tax transformation through determination engines, compliance and e-invoicing solutions, amongst others.
- You have a deep understanding of key tax and finance processes and experience of leading process redesign.
- You have project / programme management experience.
- You have a track record of working on large scale, XTax, XTerritory projects with multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- You have an understanding of the wider digitisation of tax agenda, AI and Agentic AI.
- You have experience with tax control framework, governance, taxonomies definition and implementation.
