Senior Manager / Director, Financial Services VAT
About The Role
Join a market-leading Financial Services Indirect Tax team that advises some of the largest and most complex businesses in the market. You'll work across all aspects of indirect tax, collaborating with specialists in VAT, customs, excise, stamp taxes, and environmental taxes to deliver innovative, practical solutions for clients.
This is an opportunity to further develop your technical VAT expertise while expanding your consulting, operational, and technology skills. You'll support clients in navigating an increasingly complex legal and regulatory environment, helping them manage both strategic and day-to-day indirect tax challenges.
You'll work on complex, high-profile assignments, gain exposure to a broad range of clients, and play a key role in shaping solutions that deliver real commercial value.
What You'll Be Doing
No two days are the same. You'll work on a variety of advisory and consulting projects, ranging from bespoke technical assignments through to large-scale programmes delivered alongside colleagues from different specialisms.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing a portfolio of client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser.
- Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Developing practical strategies to address complex VAT and indirect tax challenges.
- Leading the delivery of large and often multi-disciplinary projects.
- Advising UK-based businesses on domestic and international VAT matters.
- Coaching, mentoring, and supervising junior team members.
- Contributing to the development of the team's technical and commercial offerings.

About You
This role could be a great fit if:
- You have a strong track record of advising clients on complex VAT matters.
- Experience within the financial services sector would be advantageous.
- You are a proactive and commercially minded professional who can build and maintain strong client relationships.
- You have experience winning and developing business with limited oversight from senior leadership.
- You can communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to a wide range of stakeholders.
- You have experience leading client teams and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
- You possess strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- You enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a high-performing team environment.
