Role Description

The Individual Giving Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Theatre Royal Bath in Bath. This role is responsible for developing and managing relationships with individual donors, including patrons, regular givers, and members. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering individual giving campaigns, drafting compelling fundraising communications, and managing donor journeys from initial contact through stewardship and renewal. The Individual Giving Officer will coordinate donor events and receptions, maintain accurate donor records in fundraising databases, and prepare regular reports on giving performance. The role also involves working closely with colleagues across fundraising, marketing, and programming to align donor communications with the theatre’s activities and strategic objectives, particularly supporting the wider Development team in an administrative capacity.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fundraising or development, particularly in individual giving or philanthropy, with the ability to plan and manage donor campaigns.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage, steward, and retain donors through clear, empathetic, and tailored communication.
  • Proficiency in using CRM or fundraising databases, along with good organizational and data-management skills to maintain accurate donor records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce persuasive donor correspondence and event invitations.
  • Strong administration and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate donor events and activities.
  • An understanding of or interest in arts, culture, and theatre, with a commitment to supporting audience and community engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and to interact confidently with donors and stakeholders in person.
  • Previous experience in a charity, arts, or non-profit environment and/or relevant education or training in fundraising, arts management, or a related field is beneficial.
