Company Description
Nico Industrial Services UK provides specialist catalyst handling and industrial cleaning services to the petrochemical industry, building on experience in Europe since 1977 and in the UK since 2015. The company delivers turnkey catalyst handling operations, including removal and recharge, inert entry, wet dumping, dense loading, and non-entry dumping using remote-operated equipment. Nico also offers high-pressure and tank cleaning services, as well as mechanical bolting services such as tensioning, torquing and spading/de-spading. Additional capabilities include forklift operations, HGV transportation, and crane, rigging, and lifting operations. Team members work in technically demanding environments focused on safety, reliability, and high-quality service for industrial clients.
Role Description
The Industrial Cleaner role is a temporary full-time, on-site position based in Fawley to assist with shutdowns. Our next one is scheduled to begin at the end of September 2026. The role involves performing industrial cleaning tasks in petrochemical and related industrial environments, including high-pressure cleaning, tank cleaning, and assisting with preparation and clean-up around catalyst handling operations. Industrial Cleaners work as part of a field team, support mechanical and lifting operations as required, and adhere to strict health, safety, and environmental procedures. The position requires flexibility to work shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends in line with project needs.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial or heavy-duty cleaning environments, including high-pressure cleaning and tank cleaning, or willingness to learn these methods.
- Ability to work safely in petrochemical or similar industrial settings, following safety protocols, wearing PPE, and complying with health and safety regulations.
- Practical skills using industrial tools and equipment; experience supporting mechanical, rigging, or lifting operations is an advantage.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability, with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a diverse team on-site.
- Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to work in confined spaces, at height, or in challenging conditions, subject to appropriate training and medical clearance.
- Basic numeracy and literacy, with the ability to complete job-related documentation and safety checklists accurately.
- Valid UK driving license is beneficial; certifications such as confined space entry, working at height, or safety training (e.g., CSCS, CCNSG) are an advantage.
- Previous experience in petrochemical, industrial services, or related sectors is preferred but not essential for motivated candidates willing to undertake training.
